Newsletter 4 - 2009   CONGRATULATIONS BOYS ON BRINGING HOME THE SHIELD!!!!!!!!!! The Ranfurly shield is once again back in Canterbury.  Make sure you get to the park and support the boys as they put the shield on the line at each of the home games. They played an almost flawless game to win the shield off Wellington, largely helped by the large number of Cantabs that ventured north to offer their vocal support.  The boys appreciate all the support they get both at home and at away games.  Your voice really does make a difference to the way they play.  It has been great to see the players in the clubrooms after the games, and a great night was had with both the Tasman and Canterbury teams in the clubrooms together.  There was much laughter and banter going on.  The whole team will once again be in after the Northland game and the players will also be getting presented with their caps (i.e. 12 games for Canterbury).  END OF YEAR FUNCTION This will be held slightly later in the year than normal due to the All Blacks not arriving back from overseas until early December. Date:                  Saturday 19th December  Tickets can be purchased from the CRSC committee. Get in quick as they tend to sell out very quickly.  PLAYER OF THE DAY AWARDS TO DATEÂA big thank you to Ross Murdoch from Coasters Tavern in Redwood for the donation of vouchers for the Canterbury Player of the Day.
