Kieran Read and Tim Bateman scooped two awards each at the 2008 Rugby Awards Dinner on Saturday, 6 December. Tim won the Most Improved Crusader Award and the Maori Player of the Year. Kieran was presented with the Players’ Team Player of the Year Award immediately before receiving the Canterbury Rugby Supporters' Club Player of the Year Award.

The gala dinner was held at the Christchurch Convention Centre and a full list of awards given by Canterbury Rugby Union in association with The Canterbury Rugby Supporters’ Club is below.
