CANTERBURY RUGBY SUPPORTERS CLUB MARCH 2008
Dear Members
I assumed the position of club chairman for this term and for those of you that don’t know me I am an Officer in the NZ Army and was Burnham Rugby Club President from 2004-2007 stepping down last year but still remaining affiliated to the club as Vice President. I am married to a rugby-crazed family who are all dedicated Canterbury Supporters. The next few years will be difficult for the club while AMI stadium is under renovation, and has required us to relocate our clubrooms elsewhere. Our original plan to have a Marquee within the Stadium was bought to an abrupt halt by VBase at the 11th hour. Ted and Dick have worked hard behind the scenes to come up with alternative arrangements. The club has had great support from the wider rugby community and other organisations to ensure our members have a home.
The situation for the club is as follows: The marquee is no longer an option
- We would have to share these rooms with anyone who wished to come in.
Option 2 Lancaster Hotel – Boots Bar - Entrance from Car Park off Ferry Road
Option 3 The Fitz TUI Clubrooms - Fitzgerald Avenue
In both Options 2 and 3 we would have separate lounge facilities just for club members.
We have decided to trial Option 2 and Option 3 with three games each to discover which the preferred option is.
Lancaster Hotel – Boots Bar Crusaders v Cheetahs 7.35pm Sat 15 March Crusaders v Waratahs 7.35pm Fri 21 March Crusaders v Lions 5.30pm Sat 12 April
The Fitz TUI Clubrooms Crusaders v Blues 7.35pm Fri 25 Apr Crusaders v Sharks 7.35pm Fri 2 May Crusaders v Highlanders 7.35pm Sat 17 May
The Fitz TUI Clubrooms will supply a bus to take members to and from the Stadium
We have a special licence for Good Friday, 21 March at the Boots Bar
Semi / Finals to be decided on patronage/preference of members
We are looking forward to seeing you all at the Lancaster Hotel Boots Bar before and after the Cheetahs game.
We will be opening at 5pm! Last drinks at 6.45pm Closing at 7.15pm Clubrooms Re-open after match through until 1am.
Remember to support your Supporters Club so we in turn can support Canterbury Amateur / Junior rugby
